Lilypie 1st Birthday Ticker

2 lbs. 12 oz.!

What a wonderful day it was today at the doctor!
We had our sonogram at 9 and then I saw Dr. Freeman right after that. Erin came with Garrett and me to the sonogram. It was really fun seeing his adorable body. He was laying on his stomach and had his head down low, and his bottom was exactly where I'd been feeling it... as well as his legs up by my left ribs! It was really cool for me to place exactly where he was laying and realize how big he is!
That's right............. 2 pounds, 12 ounces......... that's what he measures currently! He is in the 61st percentile of body weight. Dr. Freeman later explained that if baby Reece continues on this track, we can expect him to be about 7 pounds, 4 ounces on our due date.
And I've gained 6 more pounds this past month... just like I knew...growing, growing, growing! My belly has grown 3 more inches.
This pregnancy stuff is all so interesting to me. It's amazing how God creates your body to change with the growth of your child. He is so wonderful and this baby is such a miracle.
Today at the sonogram, we saw Reece's 2 kidneys, his bladder (which already had fluid in it- which is good, meaning that he can swallow the amniotic fluid already and has no stopping points for it to get to the bladder), we saw his 4 chambers of the heart and his heart rate was 158. Everything about him is perfect!
Now, it was disappointing at first because he was laying face down which totally hindered us from looking at his face during the sonogram. He wouldn't move. He was snuggled tight up against my uterus and wasn't budging! Until finally, after we met with Dr. Freeman, we went back to the sonologist and she tried it again... and it worked! He had moved and was showing his face much better.
Now in our sonogram photos, we can't quite see the full face because he was snuggled up in the placenta. Basically, only the right side of the picture is most clear. You can make out certain parts of his face on the left side, but it looks distorted because the transducer was probing through the placenta to get the image. Now the right side of the pictures show his face that wasn't snuggled tight into the placenta.
Anyway... if you have more questions about the sonogram pics, just email me! I don't want to bore you with this info!
But I could talk about it all day because it is such a miracle :)
I will add that the sonologist said our baby is a "snuggler." She said that since he snuggled tight into my back and later my front, that he definitely likes to be close and snuggle ;)
Garrett and I can't wait for that. And I know the grandparents can't either! In fact, Erin said she'd be holding Reece on her baby belly until theirs comes in September!
And I know Reece will be loving the snuggles! Oooooooh, it is all so exciting!
This weekend, our wonderful friends came over and helped me organize the nursery and our 3rd bedroom. Praise the Lord for great, selfless friends! They came over and for hours helped me go through things Garrett and I have held onto for too long. So, yes- our home is on the upward slope to organization as we gear for Reece's homecoming! Garrett is off on Friday and Monday so he'll be able to paint the nursery.
Yeah! And the rest of our baby bedding came in.
As for now, we'll wait 12 more weeks and eagerly look for his birth!

*and sono pictures will be posted soon*
