GeGe, RyRy, & Aunt Jan... plus fun with Kiersten!

Thursday night we met Aunt Jan, GeGe and Rylan at Logan's... it was fun! The dinner was great, but even better- it was nice being with family! They were astounded at how well Reece was sitting up. He is a strong boy. He did very well as we were eating out... of course, he's quite used to it these days!

These are my favorites!

Now this was just taken today. He's a big boy in those overalls... ah, so cute! And there's his tongue again... he does that alot since he has 2 teeth now. He likes rubbing his tongue across his teeth. And doesn't his Aunt Erin just look so great! I'm thinking that Reece is trying to fix Livi's hair here! hehe! She was not having it!
And this was taken Wednesday morning at work... now you may realize where he gets his funny smiles and silly disposition from!

Reece and cousin Livi this afternoon.

Reece and Kiersten playing together last night at Rachel & Taylor's...

Precious, healthy babies! They had fun playing... they are about a month and a half apart.

Evidence of his teeth...

He looks like a Griffin boy here!

Planning for a nice, relaxing... I mean productive weekend! We don't have anything too major going on this weekend, so I know we will enjoy it!
We hope you have a wonderful strong-end too!

our baby boy is becoming a little boy!

Here is what I woke up to on Friday morning. I flashed this just as he opened his eyes. I was trying to get a picture of him sleeping on his back, since he rarely sleeps on his back... but as you can see, he was opening his eyes by the time I had my camera!
And this was on Saturday, he was playing in his bed. He had woken up from a nap, or something... sleepy eyes!

Wearing his "Life is Good" outfit from his G. We even found shoes to match! haha

He loves his fingers... aka "teething time!"

look at that precious face!
Reece is quite flexible! He really likes his feet!

What a joy to have this blessing in our lives! Look at those baby blues!
And a precious pic of his cousin, Livi, who was fast asleep while we were out and about on Saturday!
Well, here it is October 20th. Our baby boy is 5 1/2 months old and growing more and more each day. He has been sitting in my lap as I type and he reaches for everything nearby. He enjoys watching things fall on the floor, as he pushes them off of the desk. He is teething and very soon I will have to post a picture of his tooth that has come up. He has been somewhat fussy as he handles teething. Last night he was up at 11, 1, 3, 5, and 7... just like clockwork. I'm thinking it is due to his teeth. But nonetheless, his Daddy and I enjoy cuddling him and comforting him in this squeezable stage that he's in. He is so precious and we're cherishing every growing moment.
I will say that for the past 3 1/2 months, he has enjoyed his pointer and middle finger. Now he has found his thumb and chews on that! But he still relies on his fingers coupled in his mouth to get him to sleep while he sucks.
He is a constant joy to be around, regardless of his fussiness. We love little Michael Reece and cannot believe how quickly he has grown. As someone said, "you wouldn't want him to stop growing or to 'not grow,' but as he grows, it's hard to believe how quickly it happens." That is so true!
Until more pictures including his tooth, we love you all and encourage you to go vote early!

lots of updates... an apology to the grandparents!

One morning up at the office, he was having fun playing on the floor... isn't his joy contagious? Just waking up in the car seat... on the go, as usual!
The cuddle bunnies... well, let's just say these boys like to sleep ;)
So I know that all 4 of Reece's grandparents have been checking the blog looking for updates... I apologize for not making time for this sooner. As I'm sure for all of us, it has been extremely busy! Nonetheless, if I just "schedule" this into our busy-ness, then I can definitely have time for it!

Reece is growing so fast! Besides the fact that he's rolling over from his tummy to his back incessantly, he has also found his feet and loves pulling his socks off. He'll be on his back just talking and playing and then I'll notice him pulling his legs up so close to his body. His feet could practically be in his mouth!

Here's an example of his little topsy-turvy body!

And speaking of mouth, he likes trying many things in his mouth. He loves chewing on things. He even likes sucking/chewing/gumming sliced pickles, lemon wedges, and even guacamole when we're out to eat! It's harder now to keep him entertained in his car seat while we're out at a restaurant. These days he is inching out of his seat and trying to reach for things on the table. Well, perhaps not at the same time... but when we have him in either of our laps, he is always reaching for things on the table. In fact, just yesterday he pulled my chicken fingers (that were in a to-go box) off of the table! It was hilarious, but at first I didn't think it was so funny since all of the food fell on the floor ;)
In this pic, it wasn't the sun that was too much for him, it was the WT Homecoming Parade that got him... he was out! Too cute!

And here's a tribute to a few of our favorite floats at the parade last weekend. Keep in mind that West Texas A&M's Homecoming theme was "Bring home the herd."
Here is SAGE with their retro cars. Very cute. Buffaloes were driving the cars.
And another shot of SAGE's float. They won "best overall" which is the goal everyone aims for in building their organization's float. I guess you'd say I'm kinda proud to call myself an alumni of SAGE (Students Assisting in Good Endeavors).
And we've got to send a shout-out to the Phi Delts and DZs who created this float, a throwback from the 1980s float... this is a locamotive that they created. At the end, you can see the buffalo.
And here are our friends that ventured down to Canyon with us, last weekend! That's Candice and Jim Kirkpatrick... their daughter Ireland, a friend- Emily Elliott, and then their adorable son Nicholas. They are in front of the gorgeous, pure marble Buffalo sculpture which stands in front of Old Main, as the centerpiece of the Pedestrian Mall recently created in the center of campus. Just inside the circle here is a very pretty waterfall that goes down several feet. I refer to it as our mini "water garden!"And then this is probably one of my favorite pictures from the past couple of weeks... here we are with our son in front of the Buffalo. It feels good to be an alum! And yes, I'm sporting the KWTS 91.1 the One shirt for the day. In fact, the large crowd of KWTSers invited me to jump in with them at the parade, into the sea of maroon "the one" shirts, since I matched so well!
But aren't the fall mums so beautiful? It was a very pretty day on campus!

And here is Reece in the rocking chair at church in the nursery... look at those eyes!

Look at his precious cousin Livi... this was just taken today up at the office. Her eyes were steadily fixed on the black and white cow print there on the mobile bar.

And that's our boy! Grinning from ear to ear as I called his name! He's learning how to smile for the camera ;)

As for now, that's about it! There is always more- so I will be keeping you all informed!

Have a blessed weekend... talk to you soon,
