29 weeks today!

Well, I'm betting Reece is well on his way to 3 lbs. this week, if he hasn't hit that mark already. He sure feels like it! ha ;)
This weekend Garrett started on the nursery. We're not totally done with the painting but we've made some good headway. After the painting, it will be putting the furniture together :) Day by day, it's getting closer and closer! 11 weeks is only 77 more days... wow! That's not long at all. What a joy he will be!
As for now, he's moving around and quite a firm little boy. It's so funny to look down and notice his bottom sticking out! Or there will be times when I feel his leg move abruptly... wow, it is definitely a unique experience that I'm loving.
Here are a couple of photos of me at 29 weeks.

2 lbs. 12 oz.!

What a wonderful day it was today at the doctor!
We had our sonogram at 9 and then I saw Dr. Freeman right after that. Erin came with Garrett and me to the sonogram. It was really fun seeing his adorable body. He was laying on his stomach and had his head down low, and his bottom was exactly where I'd been feeling it... as well as his legs up by my left ribs! It was really cool for me to place exactly where he was laying and realize how big he is!
That's right............. 2 pounds, 12 ounces......... that's what he measures currently! He is in the 61st percentile of body weight. Dr. Freeman later explained that if baby Reece continues on this track, we can expect him to be about 7 pounds, 4 ounces on our due date.
And I've gained 6 more pounds this past month... just like I knew...growing, growing, growing! My belly has grown 3 more inches.
This pregnancy stuff is all so interesting to me. It's amazing how God creates your body to change with the growth of your child. He is so wonderful and this baby is such a miracle.
Today at the sonogram, we saw Reece's 2 kidneys, his bladder (which already had fluid in it- which is good, meaning that he can swallow the amniotic fluid already and has no stopping points for it to get to the bladder), we saw his 4 chambers of the heart and his heart rate was 158. Everything about him is perfect!
Now, it was disappointing at first because he was laying face down which totally hindered us from looking at his face during the sonogram. He wouldn't move. He was snuggled tight up against my uterus and wasn't budging! Until finally, after we met with Dr. Freeman, we went back to the sonologist and she tried it again... and it worked! He had moved and was showing his face much better.
Now in our sonogram photos, we can't quite see the full face because he was snuggled up in the placenta. Basically, only the right side of the picture is most clear. You can make out certain parts of his face on the left side, but it looks distorted because the transducer was probing through the placenta to get the image. Now the right side of the pictures show his face that wasn't snuggled tight into the placenta.
Anyway... if you have more questions about the sonogram pics, just email me! I don't want to bore you with this info!
But I could talk about it all day because it is such a miracle :)
I will add that the sonologist said our baby is a "snuggler." She said that since he snuggled tight into my back and later my front, that he definitely likes to be close and snuggle ;)
Garrett and I can't wait for that. And I know the grandparents can't either! In fact, Erin said she'd be holding Reece on her baby belly until theirs comes in September!
And I know Reece will be loving the snuggles! Oooooooh, it is all so exciting!
This weekend, our wonderful friends came over and helped me organize the nursery and our 3rd bedroom. Praise the Lord for great, selfless friends! They came over and for hours helped me go through things Garrett and I have held onto for too long. So, yes- our home is on the upward slope to organization as we gear for Reece's homecoming! Garrett is off on Friday and Monday so he'll be able to paint the nursery.
Yeah! And the rest of our baby bedding came in.
As for now, we'll wait 12 more weeks and eagerly look for his birth!

*and sono pictures will be posted soon*

The Mom at 27 Weeks

This photo was taken on Wednesday... 27 weeks and 1 day.
This week he's been very active and it's made me quite aware of his kicking. I've read that after 32 weeks or so, I may not feel him move as much especially since he'll be growing so big and have less room to ride the bike around in me!
But oh how excited Garrett and I are to see his little face next Tuesday! We go to the sonogram Tuesday morning and we are very much looking forward to it. I've also read that he looks very similar to what he'll look like at birth... just thinner with less muscle. I guess we'll just have to see next Tuesday!
It was very exciting this week because Erin and Jeremy saw their baby for the first time. What a little swimmer he was... just moving all fours! Erin is at 10 weeks and has an early September due date. Our babies will be 4 months apart! How exciting!
Well, last night was water aerobics again and our instructor worked us hard! It was great though and I'm feeling great each time I go!
As for this weekend, Garrett and I are planning to gear up for the nursery. Since we have the bedding and furniture, he'll paint the nursery next weekend when he's off and then we can truly start putting it all together!
Woooohooooo... only 13 weeks left!
the excited mom,

27 weeks... Third Trimester!

Good Tuesday morning!
It has been a great Tuesday morning here... there's been misting in Amarillo but no snow yet. And yesterday was gorgeous- such a perfect day to end with water aerobics! Erin came with me this time and we really enjoyed it. That's definitely a great workout regimen I'll enjoy until he comes!
And speaking of little Reece, it has been so precious getting to feel his movements. I told Garrett this morning that it feels like his bottom is up on my left side by my ribs. As he rotates and moves, it's like he is calmly riding a bike or something :) Garrett got a laugh out of that! But it's true, his movements are becoming much more solid. And his little body is so firm feeling from the outside. I researched and at 27 weeks, he's about 14.4 inches long and weighs 2 pounds! Woooohoooo! That little boy inside of me is growing and what an amazing miracle it is.
I look forward to tomorrow, because Erin & Jeremy go to the sonologist to see how far along they are... maybe 9, 10, or 11 weeks! And then next week on the 12th, Garrett and I will get to peek in on precious Reece for some more in-depth sonogram photos!
What a blessing pregnancy is!
Have a great Tuesday and stay warm... I'm all bundled up here!

*and how exciting to hit the "Third Trimester" benchmark!
