Good Monday afternoon!
What a nice weekend we had. Garrett was very productive around the house, installing new blinds for the baby, and doing all kinds of other things :) I think he may have had the nesting syndrome even more than me! Well, technically I haven't been scrubbing, dusting, cleaning non-stop as I hear soon-moms-to-be do. But it sure would be nice if baby Reece decided to make his debut within the next few days!
I went to the doctor on Friday and he didn't seem to notice any new progression... saying that I'm still about 50% effaced. Of course, the baby is in perfect position and our bags are packed for the hospital.
We'll keep everyone updated, but technically we still have a week until the due date!

how fast time goes...
What an exciting day this is! We just got our chair in, hence I've uploaded recent pics of the nursery. Things are all tying together and it is such a sweet thing to think upon... our son will be here any day now! Although we technically have 17 days left until our official due date, the doctor said I'm 50% effaced but not yet dilated. Garrett and I have been getting our exercise as we've walked almost every day this week. It's quickly approaching and as you may be able to see from the new picture of me, the baby has dropped. The doctor and nurse both agreed once they'd measured me... the baby is getting closer and closer. He may have a couple more inches before I start dilating. We'll see how long it will be!
Another addition to our nursery is the precious wall plaque that some of Garrett's co-workers got for us. It is a perfect fit and one of my favorite things in the nursery... which is probably why it's in the center of things!
What a precious room we'll get to bring him home to! Perhaps I'm a little biased, but it is certainly a place I will enjoy rocking him to sleep in ;)
Eager for baby Reece,
Farrell

will it be this week?
Reece may look in the womb, as I type this message :)
What a productive weekend Garrett & I had this past Saturday and Sunday! We have been learning alot lately through BSA's Child Prep classes, and in fact- we toured the 3rd floor of the hospital Saturday and that got us so excited about the birth of baby Reece! We peeked into the nursery and saw two brand-new babies and they were oh-so-adorable! It is really exciting to learn much about the childbirth process and Garrett & I are looking forward to it :)
We are continually being blessed by friends and family as baby Reece's nursery gets "fuller and fuller" with plenty of necessities... so again, we are very grateful for all of the gifts!
He has continued moving and growing and seems like he could come anytime! Doesn't it look like it? He has dropped, so it could be within 2 weeks that he comes... that would be great! If it's a little longer- we're content with that too. It is just so great waking up every morning wondering if he's coming today! We'll take April or May and we'll keep you informed on all the details!

~excitement in the air~
Wooohoooo!
We are eager for baby Reece to make his entrance into the world!
The past week, Garrett and I have been continually working around the house. I don't think he's ever worked on the yard as much as he had in the past week, and I've definitely been going through some "nesting" as I've been cleaning and preparing his room. We were so blessed two weeks ago with gifts from family and friends. Reece has beautiful blankets and great clothes to get us through the first 6 months with plenty left overs! I know I'll be washing alot when he's a newborn, so I've already started his laundry... and oh how good it smells with the Dreft detergent :) I just want to cuddle his clean laundry because it smells so good!
Last week, Erin and I put the swing together and I just stare at that usually once a day with the starlights and music and I can imagine how soothing it will be for him... it makes me want to hang out in his room all day! And I'll say that his room is like the gathering place at our house. When my sis and cousin come over, we just sit in the floor and go through his things or talk and daydream about his arrival! Then Garrett and Jeremy will walk in and join us and here we all are, just talking about the precious baby before he's even arrived!
Did I mention that we're eager?! hehe!
I think this evening Garrett will load the baby's carseat into the vehicle and I'll work on packing my bags in the next few days.
Garrett and I started a childbirth education class last Thursday night that meets weekly and will run until the 24th of this month. Saturday we go to a few more helpful classes like "Happiest Baby." I enjoy going to those classes, especially with Garrett because it has become so much more of a reality now. With us there together, I feel like Garrett is grasping the reality alot stronger too. We are very excited!
And then on Friday morning I'll visit my doctor. By then, I'll be 36 weeks 3 days. We'll see if he notices anything. I will say that I haven't experienced "lightening" or "engagement" ... which is when the baby drops... or at least, I don't know if I have experienced it. Of course, it doesn't look like I've dropped- so we better not count on it.
We just know he will come at the perfect time! And oh how excited we are!
until next time...
